Cancellation, Reschedule & Refund Policy

Version 1.3 – 14 July 2025 (Australia-wide)

1 . Definitions

WorkshopAny paid photography workshop, tour, retreat or tuition advertised by us.
Client / Participant / youThe individual or entity who books and pays for a Workshop.
Start Date00:01 local time on Day 1 of the scheduled Workshop.
Force Majeure EventEvent beyond a party’s reasonable control (e.g. natural disaster, pandemic, government restriction, serious leader illness).

2 . Booking & Payments

  1. Deposit – 30 % non-refundable deposit secures your place.
  2. Balance due – Remaining 70 % payable 60 days before the Start Date.
  3. Late bookings (≤ 60 days) – 100 % fee due at time of booking.
  4. GST – All prices include Australian GST where applicable.

3 . Cancellation by Client

*Refunds processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.

How to cancel – email written notice to dk@knightysphotography.com.au. Effective date is when the email is received.

4 . Reschedule & Transfer

  1. One-time transfer of deposit/booking permitted ≥ 60 days before Start Date (subject to availability).
  2. < 60 days → treated as cancellation (see table) unless seat is re-sold.

5 . Cancellation or Material Change by Us

  1. Minimum numbers – We may cancel if enrolment < 2 participants 30 days out; you receive 100 % refund or fee-free transfer.
  2. Force Majeure – If a Force Majeure Event forces cancellation or date change, you may choose:
    • transfer to new date,
    • credit valid 24 months, or
    • full refund. Our liability is capped at monies paid.

6 . Client Responsibilities & Insurance

You are responsible for travel, equipment and comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical, equipment and weather disruptions from deposit date.

7 . Liability & Risk Acknowledgement

  1. Outdoor photography involves inherent risks; participation is voluntary and at your own risk.
  2. We are not liable for loss, injury or damage except as required under the Australian Consumer Law.
  3. Nothing in this Policy excludes your non-excludable rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or relevant State/Territory fair-trading legislation.

8 . Dispute Resolution

Please notify us in writing of any dispute and allow 14 days to respond. If unresolved, either party may refer the matter to the civil & administrative tribunal of the State or Territory where the Workshop was delivered (e.g. QCAT, NCAT, VCAT, SAT, TASCAT) or to another agreed mediator before starting court proceedings.

9 . Amendments

We may amend this Policy by posting an updated version on our website. The version in force on the date you pay your deposit applies to your booking.

10 . Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State or Territory in which the relevant Workshop is conducted. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State or Territory.
